The Denver International Airport (DIA) is the primary airport for this region.

Getting to Boulder

Boulder is about 45-60 minutes away from DIA by car. A taxi to Boulder is very expensive. Cheaper alternatives are to take a shuttle, or the RTD SkyRide.

The SkyRide bus departs every hour from the airport. Be sure to take route AB. You do not need a reservation. The cost is $10. If you don't have the exact fare, you may want to buy a ticket at the RTD counter in the airport terminal. You will most likely want to get off at the Table Mesa Park-n-Ride, or the Boulder Station at 14th and Walnut. From there you can call for a taxi.

Getting to NCAR

NCAR is easy to find, due its location up on the mesa. You can see it from many places in Boulder if you look west (towards the mountains) and usually south. Broadway is a major north/south road, and Table Mesa is a major east/west road. When you are at the intersection of Broadway and Table Mesa, simply drive west on Table Mesa all the way to the top and you will be at NCAR. You may want to refer to the map in the hotels section below.

NCAR has plenty of free parking.

We are asking people with cars to offer rides to other people in nearby hotels who may not have a car. If there is sufficient demand, we may arrange for taxi or shuttle service. If you stay at the Broker Inn or the Days Inn, you can take a 15-20 minute walk to the intersection of Table Mesa and Broadway, which is a good meeting place for people that need a ride.
